To P.M. in 2001 was the 3rd highest-ranked UK Singles Chart. Her first leading role in 2003's comedy Love Don't cost a Dime, starring teen actors. She was in the film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past starring Jennifer Garner. She took a short break from the music industry to make Bring It On: Fight to the Finish. Milian was back in the studio and concentrated on the promotion of Us Against the World. The music video was filmed. Milian has stated that she is becoming more selective about what deserves to be included in her album. The singer also began to record. The album's songs include the Madonna-like ballad from the 90s Euro club album Tug of War as well as the feel-good Diamonds track featuring Kanye.
